1960 Warres Vintage Port

Bottled by Avery without Warres on the label, the cork identified this as Warres. There is aroma of some Belgian candi sugar, and a little dark oxidized fruit, slightly rotten. There is also a Belgian Special B malty aroma. This is really sweet and juicy in the mouth, and not as thick as the 1955 Martinez. It is quite nice, but not overly complex. With some slurping in the mouth I detect … strawberry! Nice acid. 93 points.
