Decanted about 5 hours. A pale ruby color. A fairly simple nose of dried cherries. The palate was medium bodied with some spirit showing through the sugar covered dried cherries that led in to a short finish. This particular bottle was showing very advanced and on the downhill slide. If it is representative, then I'd start drinking these up soon.

That's kind of what I expected. I do have one left, which I may open soon with another 1977 for contrast. Or maybe it is just better enjoyed on its own.

Based on the couple times I've had it and what others have said, if you pair it then serve this one first and finish it all before moving on to the second bottle.
