1985 Souza Vintage Port

Post by Russ K »

A nice standard port. Nothing bad, nothing wow. Very difficult to decant through my fine SS screen, the fines are incredibly fine! but after that was done, it was a worthy dessert to a wonderful dinner.

I've consumed four from my case of the 1985s. I found them mature but definitely not on the tawny side of things. While it is not a great bottle of VP, I like it quite a bit for its elegance and texture along with very pure grape flavors and the long lasting mocha infused finish.
Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com

there was nothing tawny here it was definitely VP in character, just no wow factor. very enjoyable though.
