Pop and Pour. Unfiltered LBV bottled in 2009; regular cork--with a tight fit. Threw off quite a bit of fine sediment for a 10 year old wine. Deep purple with magenta rim. Spicy aromas with a touch of boysenberry. Feels very refined on the tongue, picking up tar, black licorice with a juicy finish; touch of currants. Crisp, not acidic. Has light to moderate weight. This one finishes in a unique fashion, it just seems to lack fruit that most LBVs of this age would have and is not acidic/tannic yet has a crisp finish....despite its color it feels aged. Has a little complexity and a fine LBV. Enjoyable.

Some is left in the decanter. On Day 2 all the edges have mellowed out. It tastes more like an older VP, but without the complexity. The viscosity is still between thin and moderate; lots of red currant and black licorice.
