NV Pacheca 40 Year Old Tawny

Post by Eric Menchen »

Bottled 2015. Spirit and warmth, almost to the point of distraction compared to the 20 and 30 year old. Later, there were aromas of old cedar, dried fig, apricot, and toasted marzipan, then some mustiness. Really tangy, figgy, with sweet raisin too. Medium thick bodied. Lots of warmth in the finish. The finish carries for a good while … this is good. In the long run, this beats the 20 year old because it has a little more acid for balance, and a longer finish. 94 points.
