Lots of grape stem aroma, lots! Swirling gives more stem, menthol, then an exotic Asian herb, star anise, patchouli, and musk. Lots of tannins, medium acid, good dark fruit. Nice balance. Surprising for a such a young VP, this is approachable now. There is lots of pucker, but it isn't whacking me in the mouth. There is a little warmth in the finish, but it is pleasant. The finish is decent, but this is more concerning for the long run (that there isn't more). 91 points now. This might be a better early drinker as opposed to one to keep for the long haul.
