For The Love Of Port

Bottled 2013. Since I made it to the cabin just as the snow was starting to fall, and about an hour before they closed the road and then required chains, I figured this would be a good choice to start the holiday weekend with. Very sweet initially, then marzipan, maple, mahogany, then as it started to get cloying some acidity and cloves showed up to freshen it up. A wonderful bottle.

Tried tonite-very good a slight off taste in the aftertaste-but did you think it was 30 yr quality ot less?

I think the quality is there, but this is a cross between two different styles of Tawny so it does come off as being slightly different than most others that definitively fall into one specific type.

The two styles being the Portuguese which is a more fruit forward style and the non-Portuguese which tends to be more on the dried fruits, nuts, and caramel side. I've always thought Krohn's were the odd one that never really fit into either category as they come off as a mix of the two.
