Opened on Thanksgiving, decanted 8 hours and consumed over 3 days to belatedly celebrate my little brother's 21st.
Beautifully whole cork, an equally beautiful dark opaque hue with no signs of bricking. Nose is initially a touch hot, but is full of dark berry fruit, baking spices and a roasted earth note (think loamy, but warmer).
Palate is full and on the sweeter side, with reasonable grip and, until day 2-3, a touch hot. Again, dark berry fruit is forefront, but with plenty of baking spices evolving through the mouth and a deft balance despite its weight and sweetness.
This wine is absolutely delicious and still has a good long life ahead. This bottle didn't quite rate as high as the bottle shared at the '85 tasting earlier in the year, falling a touch shorter in complexity, but there's nothing to complain about here
