Thankfully our heatwave gave way to a cool evening, which was perfect for sipping this beauty while sitting outside on Valentine's Day. The color is now turning more of a brownish color as it looses its red in its old age. I love the front and center lavender with the perfume and cinnamon wafting in the background on the nose. The palate is showing its delicacy now that it's 55 years old. But that doesn't detract from the spices, nutmeg, cloves, and just a touch of spirit that peeks out on the long finish. I've had this a few times and its been very consistent. Fully mature but holding on a good plateau where it should for at least another 5+ years, if not longer.
