This bottle came as an extra in a mixed lot I was interested in. It showed some light signs of prior seepage and when I pulled the cork there was a seam along one side where it had caused a slight seepage at some point. The fill was well into the neck. While this showed lots of very young fruit and light tannins, it was very simple and lacking complexity. A moderate finish also lacked complexity. As I don't have much reference points for this one I don't know if it's in a closed phase or just lacking in complexity to begin with.

Hmm this has me worried.

I bought one less than a month ago from a private collector that was reducing his port cellar. It was in pristine condition and he is the original owner. I don't foresee opening it for at least 10 years so I hope it is just closed up for the moment and will develop secondary notes and complexity over the next decade.

Thanks for the note.
