Our last bottle of 1977 Dow’s vintage port. Decanted 6 hrs. Cork opened by The Durand and was very wet, but came out in one piece. A lot of fine sediments and needed to be filtered twice before decanting period started. Impressive with the colour which was still red, but clearly on the way to be more tawny-like. Aroma of berries, raisins and some minerals. Full body. Powerful and elegant, raisins, but also tiny bit bitterness, Some tannins in an acceptable way. Long aftertaste. 91 pts.
