I came into posession of a 1933 Van Zeller VP. Is this the Noval Van Zellers? If so, is this Noval fruit?

I'm gonna guess it depends on which Van Zeller if came from. But it would be odd not to be labeled as Noval. The only Noval I've not seen labeled as Noval was from the 1800's before the sale. But it is the Douro so anything is possible.

Perhaps try sending Cristiano an email and see if he replies?

I'd doubt it is Noval as well. But if it is I guess he can't use it as a marketing tool.

Beside that, I was told back in the days that the family stash was sold with the estate. So it is hard to put some quantities on the market of such an old wine. Recently Van Zeller has been releasing a few different Colheitas, mostly from blending Port from other Van Zeller family estate. I have the feeling this 1933 is a ''Negociant'' Port wine.

I think a explanation to this thread can be read on this URL here -->
--> url --> http://www.quintavaledonamaria.com/vzstart.htm

From what I read, in 2006 Cristiano van Zeller bought the "Van Zellers & Co" back for himself and in 2009 Cristiano started the production of Van Zeller Ports.
The website says the company has Colheitas from 1951 until 2004.
However, there's No word on the 1933 VP !? .
- Next time I meet Cristiano I shall ask him further details 8--)

I recall considering buying a 2000 Van Zeller port some years ago and in the end decided on the 2000 Silval instead. For some reason I think the label had Van Zeller and the name of another company.
