TN: 2016 Alves de Sousa Quinta da Oliveirinha Grande Reserva Douro red

This is a new product from Alves de Sousa. 15 % alc. Vineyard 60 years. Decanted 3 hrs (next bottle must be 5 hrs). Deep purple colour. Fresh fruity aroma with elements of wood and minerals. Medium to full body. Taste is powerful and fruity, but relatively dry at part of the first impressions. Towards the end more minerality is more evident. Structure could have been better. Quite rough, but think that much longer decanting time will help. Medium length aftertaste. 88 pts.
