In general, I like the Gaivosa Douro red quite a lot (since 2003 which was my first vintage of that wine). The 2015-vintage was another very good year for Gaivosa red.
Decanted 5 hrs, which worked well. Aroma dominated by minerals, but with wood and fruit in the background. Full body. Taste was powerful, really elegant, and then the usual wonderful Douro-mix of minerals, fruit and wood. Well-structured and well-balanced acidity/sweetness. Minerals strong towards the end. A Douro red to be recommended. 93 pts.
