2011 Niepoort Redoma Reserva Douro White

Post by David Spriggs »

10 years old. I never liked this version. The 2010 was tremendous, but the 2011 never failed to disappoint. After ignoring the bottles that I had for long enough, it's time to just drink them up and make space in the cellar.

Medium straw color. No browning at all. Looks very good for a 10 year old White wine from the Douro. The nose is subtle and "interesting". Some smoke, lime, and crushed stems... like subtle basil. Palate is ok. It's not dead (yet!). The finish is very short. No much to say, but drinkable. 84 points.

Yikes. Glad I don’t have any in the cellar.
