TN: 2004 Gloria Reynolds Cathedral Alentejo red

Post by Rune EG »

Found only 2004 and 2005 available on the market. Decanted 5 hrs which worked well. Tiny bit sediments. Deep dark red with a distinct brown colour as well. Powerful aroma full of terroir, minerals and herbs. Full body. Powerful taste dominated by minerals, soil, herbs and hints of oak. The structure and the acidity/sweetness-balance were nice. Quite a “big” wine which in spite of being 18 years is still doing well. However, maybe the best would be drink the remaining bottles over the next 1-2 years. Long aftertaste. 94 pts.
