  • NV J.H. Andresen Porto 40 Year Old White Porto - Portugal, Douro, Porto (9/26/2022)
This is an unfiltered cask sample, bottled this morning. This wine is over 40 years old and is a clear, orange-yellow in color. There are notes of grilled pineapple, torrefacted sugars, and caramel on the nose. Incredible, well-balanced acidity with citrus and DipStick candy (confectioner sugar)creates a wonderful sweetness on the palate. According to Carlos Flores, the oldest wine in this blend is a dry white that is over 80 years old. Carlos said that in making this wine he was standing on the shoulders of giants. It has a very long finish. (94 pts.)
