(~25 years old. 135 g/l RS.) Smells of leather, dried leaf, and faint creosote; then lemon-lime with faint graham cracker crust. Intense concentrated flavor with alcohol warmth in the mouth; with flavors of fig, raisin, plum, and cherry. Very tangy, with a nice medium+ body. 94 points.

I tasted this at the lodge with André Pimental Barbosa. I distinctly wrote "Prototype" in my notes based on something he said. But I think they were selling bottles of this at the time, so I'm not sure exactly was meant by that. Regardless, it was a great wine and even more so for the price point.

I don't recall him saying that specifically, but he might have. It might have been in reference to the "line" of products to which the Bonificador belongs, all of which are special blends, leftover casks, experiments, etc. It definitely has a prototype/experiment feel to it!

I like the Bonificador better than the 30 year-old. They both were good, but I thought the Bonificador edged it out. The QPR on it is very nice as well. I have 4 bottles left and probably the same for the 30 year-old. Overall Pocas makes great Colheitas and TWAIOA. That 1994 LBV was very good as well.
They're an underrated Producer.
