1937 Ramos Pinto Colheita Port

Post by Andy Velebil »

Bottled in 2000

This bottle had been open about 7 days. Light brown color. Wow, a nose of carmel, toffee, and nuts....just great. The palate has nuts, vanilla, and everything else you can think of in an old colheita. A long finish that goes on and on. 98 points

Now a bottle opened today (10/02/06).
Light brown with a tinge of orange, similar nose, but this has more heat showing. Palate and finish is about the same. The one opened was a touch better and shows that even some old colheitas need decanting and will last after being opened. 97+ points
