H&H Vinho Velho bottled 9 June 1994

Post by Al B. »

I've just been given a bottle of H&H Vinho Velho, which was bottled to commemorate the inauguration of the adega at Ribeira do Escrivao, Quinta Grande and the armazem in Belem on 9 June 1994.

There is nothing else at all on the label to tell me what is inside the bottle. Is anyone familiar with this wine? Anyone know what grapes are in the blend?

Thanks for any information anyone can give. There's obviously a story behind the wine, but I can't trace any information on the web.

Thanks Mike. I tried searching before I posted, but didn’t find any of those threads - I really appreciate the links! Made it very easy for me.

By some remote chance, does anyone have a copy of the Rare Wine Company newsletter from 20 March 2007 that has the article in it about this wine?

If so, please do post the article so I can read it.

Many thanks!
