The 1970 Taylor was a very dark blackberry color and had a strong nose of juniper berries and alcohol. The primary and mid palate tastes were of black current jam and Grand Marnier with a heavily spiced black pepper finish lasting at least 15 seconds. The '70 Taylor was a bit disappointing in terms of finesse and balance but a true Port "powerhouse" with years of aging potential.

It seems like I will have to send you a good bottle of this Port so you can get "a real impression" of its beauty.
