The crazy long weekend in Boston started on Thursday with some pretty cool wines. Here are my notes on them.

We started drinking this after a short 2 hour decant and continued drinking it for the next 8 hours.

This started out with a light ruby center fading to a pale edge with red highlights. The nose was understandably tight at first then gave way a gripping very floral white cherry. The wine started a bit hot and medium weight which morphed with time, totally integrating the heat and into a full bodied VP. The palate had great spices, juniper, and bright strawberries. By the end of the bottle it opened further to reveal christmas cake flavors and a very long finish. This bottle showed remarkably well and I felt it was at its apex, yet could hold there a few more years. 95 points.
