I want to start this topic a little earlier than usual. Got any ideas or suggestion for March?

I'll be in Portugal next week so I'll need someone to start the chosen topic

The logical suite to Croft could be Delaforce. But seeing we did not have much participation yet on Croft, on wounder if it will be the same for Delaforce or the product are more widely available?

Other ideas could be to try a lesser tier House and see if the quality is really not on par ?
Rozes, Pocas,

We could also try quality Colheita houses like Khron, Kopke.

Any interests in the suggestions above?

Why not look at Dao? IMO a region that has surely progressed over the years.

Bob, believe me I do love much the Dao region(I was thinking to go there for my next trip), but unfortunately it does not fit with the directive line of this BB. Please do post your tasting notes in the other discussion section, I'd love to read them!

lesser tier House
ummmm, that is a lesser known house ? I tried to look it up on babelfish and other online dictionaries but i dont get responses. Maybe its in ye olde dictionary published in 1570 but i cant find the word so i assume the meaning of the word 'tier' is less ? :D

If so, i have bottles of less known houses so i can participate on this one.

Erik,

Frederick is using the word tier (correctly) to describe shippers who are not considered to be in the top league of Vintage Port producers. I don't think he is commenting on how well known they are, just the commonly held perception of how good their ports are.

To use an international football analogy: if Brazil, Italy, Germany and Argentina were in the top tier then England, Netherlands, Sweden and Spain might be in a "lesser tier"

...and before anyone complains about my ranking system, I can tell you that I'm Scottish - so didn't even qualify for the competition

Not sure we've decided yet.

So how about we do the Delaforce thing...but make it a little broader and easier for all.

ANY Port from Delaforce

I know of at least one I will be able to get my hands on. A tawny, but it has been a while since I have had it so I am able to do it again.

OK, it looks like

ANY BOTTLE FROM DELAFORCE

is the winner...so grab whatever bottle you can find from Delaforce and give it a go.

I'd really love to get some of the lurkers or others who don't post very often to chime in with their thoughts. Doesn't need to be a super long TN, just a quick note to say why you liked it or not.
