***UPDATED: TODAY is DAY for Forum downtime (3-8-08)

As you may have read in Roy's February Newsletter that was posted today, we will be doing some major upgrades to fortheloveofport.com

One of the upgrades is to the software that runs our forum.

That means that while we are doing our upgrade, the forum will not be accessible.

We have not set a date for the upgrade yet, but I will post in this forum when we do.

I expect the impact to ftlop users to be minimal. In trial runs, I've been able to upgrade everything in a few hours. However, I can't promise a time frame for when the site will be back up - you know how those things can go sometimes...

I think that you will all be happy with the new version, and thank you in advance for your patience as we continue to improve this site.

Please email me at [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns.

***Important - Forum down tonight (3-3-08) at 9:00 PM

The Forum will be down starting at about 9:00 PM PST for upgrades. We estimate that it will take about 5 hours to complete.

Hold tight - cool things are on the way!

New schedule

Due to some last minute configuration work, we did NOT update the forum last evening as planned.

I will post a new date here and on the front page soon.

Stewart,

I think we will have to impose some strict Service Levels with stiff penalties for non compliance here.

I am working on the basis that "last minute configuration" is another term for either an attractive young lady or a great bottle of VP that required your attention yesterday evening rather than applying the upgrade

Good luck with the updates...and remember the Prime Directive: If you can't get it to work - turn it off and re-boot

Cheers

Derek
