I had a bottle of Messias wine last week can't remember what it was called and I've got rid of the bottle. I was surprised how good it was at $5 a bottle I'm new to Portuguese wine but that was definately a Queens Park Rangers bottle :D

Messias' website is http://www.cavesmessias.pt/uk/index.php

By checking their website I've found out that Messias produces wines from several wine regions: Douro, Bairrada, Dão and Vinho Verde. And also Ports, Sparkling Wine & Brandy spirit. [I must confess I was not aware how big this company is :!:  ]

Simon - maybe you could find out whether the Messias Wine you tasted this month is post on their website (you may check in their products list).

Regarding Messias Ports, I've given a particular attention to their Colheitas portfolio 8). Those are the Years:
1947, 1952, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1970, 1975, 1977, 1978, 1980, 1982, 1985, 1990, 1991, 1994, 1995.

And those are the Vintage Ports:
1960, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1976, 1977, 1979, 1980, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1989, 1997, 2003.

Mario the queens park rangers is a joke from an earlier thread quality per price ratio.I've looked the wine up I had from your link and it was Bairrada messias selection red 2001 it was part of a mixed case and a half I bought of Portuguese wine for christmas presents imported from Germany for a total cost of £45.I have had a few Messias ports and still have one bottle of vintage 1948 and the quinta is it cachao 1970 left. But I must admit that wine for the price was very good.

I must admit Mario I have quite a few ports from the lesser known makers,I've found the diffence in style not quality, Burmester I'm exploring at the moment. Thanks for the great information my work colleague's nephew used to work for Taylors but sidestepped and is working for Romariz promoting wine.
