2000 Fonseca Vintage Port

We opened this bottle about a week ago. At that time it was really nice, showing a nose of blackberry and a palate that matched. The real story is how it opened up after sitting in my fridge for a week. HOLY COW! I'm sure this would've elicited an OMFG from Eric. It simply exploded with the most intense nose of violets I've ever experienced. The palate was ever changing with layer upon layer of blackberry, blueberry, razzleberry, whatever! One of the most seamlessly balanced ports I've had the pleasure to consume. And the finish? It... was... ever... so... long..... 8) (98 pts.)
