Niepoort Garrafeira 1952
It was decanted in 1974. Rich and complex, with notes of cherry, coal, roasting and spice.
Fantastic in the mouth. Very elegant, delicate, thin and with long end. Purely delicious. I have never drunk anything with this profile. Magnificent

Andy,
It was my first Garrafeira. And it seemed to me quite a different kind of Port. Very elegant, very delicate. Kinda "feminine" side of Port.
Maybe it's me but this Port felt different.

Thanks for the elaboration. I've only had two and both times they struck me as being an interesting cross between a mainly a colheita but with subtle VP notes mixed in throughout. The feminne side is definitely something that I got too, mainly on the nose.

Elegent and delicate are both good terms to describe Garrfeira. I find them more tawny/colheita than vintage tasting. Awesome style of port that I wish was made more often.
