1970 Ramos Pinto Vintage Port

The 1970 Ramos Pinto initially smelled heavily of alcohol but had an excellent dark purple-black and ruby color in the glass. The primary tastes were surprisingly well rounded and youthful with flavors of dried fig and cherry. On the mid palate it was thick and rich with hints of spice and licorice. The finish was reminiscent of a sweet pink grapefruit.
