Very dark color still, as expected. The nose had some funkiness to it that I couldn't quite place. But the palate was large and course. Much more brawny than the 2003, as the tannins were big and punishing. The fruit was a bit closed up but showed blueberries and maple. The structure really stood out in this compared to the 2003 VP. This will be a very nice VP in 20-30+ years and should hold up well for long term storage. 93-94 points
