Drunk on 08 October 2008 in a Cockburns vertical in London.

1960 Cockburn
A youthful optic, strawberry red, darker than the 1963! Cedar and herbs on the nose, with good plumy fruit and some focused alcohol on the palate. Still youthful and showing no tertiary ageing characteristics. One of my top four Ports of the night.

Had the Cockburn 1960 vintage port april 2009.
Fully matured - won't get any better - from now on it's down the hill!Indeed strawberry red - but to the light side. For sure a nice vintage port - but not anything to "die for". I found lots liquorice and some marzipan. Still som delicate fruit left - a bit fragile. In my opinion the alcohol was a bit to dominating. Didn't find the fruit plummy nor did I find the port "youthfull". For sure a port with a lot af ageing and maturing. I think this port had its optimum some years back. Surely a nice port - would rank it about 89p.

Best regards
Henrik
