1955 Cockburn's Vintage Port

Drunk on 08 October 2008 in a Cockburns vertical in London.
1955 Cockburn
Light red, with nuances of herb and volatile acidity. There was a battle between the dry dates and mature red currants, against the alcohol. For my palate, in the end, sadly, the alcohol won. I have tasted much better bottles of this Port, noticeably the bottle I opened from my cellar almost 1 year ago that was superb and still youthful. Yes, I know, no great wines, only great bottles.
