1985 Graham's Vintage Port

Post by Kris Henderson »

The cork was soaked and leaking just a little bit. On decanting, I noticed a rather light color. This darkened up a little bit after several hours of air but it was still a lighter color than I remember from my last tasting. Overall, this bottle showed more age than previous bottles. I suspect this was stored at warmer though fairly consistent temperatures. Even though this showed more age, it was an absolutely delicious bottle. Full body on the palate with good sweetness. Lush, well integrated tannins. Very soft, and silky. Sweet red fruit with leather, anise, and cinnamon. Nearly perfect balance and the alcohol is just barely noticeable on the pleasing warm finish. Perhaps this is a glimpse at what a perfectly stored bottle will be like in 10 to 15 years. 94
