1963 Romariz Colheita Port

Post by Richard Henderson »

A superb Colheita. Nice dried fruit nose and entry. Not too hot. Lots of raisen, dried fig notes. Long finish 92 points.

Perfect timing! I'm going to be opening one of these (bottled in 1997) in the next day or two.

What was the bottling date on yours?

I´ve had this twice in a few days. Once with Glenn from a bottle he brought over and again, last night at Vinologia in Porto. I was not impressed either time and Glenn´s bottle was not showing any love at all as it was tight as a closed fist. Just about no amount of coaxing could help it. The bottle last night did not particularly show well either. I´ve certainly had better 1963 Colheitas and Burmester comes immediately to mind.

Glad to see that Richard´s bottle did not show the heat that these two exhibited and that he had a positive experience.
