This has lost a lot of color for a young VP in a major declared year as its now a medium ruby. The nose showed some promise with young red fruit but there was a lot of heat overshadowing it. The palate was also hot and simple with a clipped finish. 87 points.

This was my least favorite of the eight 1985s of the evening. It just seemed off to me.
