[Pre Auction Wine Tasting w/ Aubert de Villaine (DRC) (NYC)]: Very sweet cherry and spice. Some florals. Tannins are resolving. Lovely. 93 points

This never gets much notice even though it is about as good as any Port from this vintage. The rare un-corked Cockburn's is about the only other really fine 1983, along with Nacional from an otherwise mediocre vintage. However, I think that some Ports from 1983 ... like the Dow, still have a long life ahead.
