1977 Kopke Colheita Port

bottled in 1999, consumed over several days
I've had a good number of this over the past few years and it's always been the enjoyable bottle, this was no different. In a year famously known for it's Vintage Port declaration, colheita's from this year are few and far between. If memory serves, this has now been all bottled so there will be no future releases of this nectar. A bit shy on acidity the first night, or was that the cigar getting in the way, it just needed some time to come out of its shell. by night two and three this was really starting shine, acidity and all. Plenty of candied walnuts, maple, and dried nuts on a medium body keeps me coming back for more. It's a shame there is no more of this, I would love to see how this does with another decade of barrel aging. 92 points
