Bottled in 1999.
This was consumed with the 1977 Dow's VP I posted about the other day and no formal note taken as it was consumed during a lively conversation with Alex R during our last minute mini-gathering. I was amazed at how much orange was on it. Lots of orange marmalade and orange peel both on the nose and the palate. The later of which also had some nice maple bar and a touch of smoke that showed up the next day on the leftovers. This was lacking some acidity though and Alex and I had a good discussion about pro's and con's of keeping some Colheita's too long after being bottled. Since I've had this one before from a recent bottling, where it had good lively acidity, I surmised the extended bottling age left it a bit flabby. 89 points.
