2003 Quinta do Noval LBV Port -- Unfiltered

Surprisingly, a bit light when first poured but this seemed to darken with air... still a medium to light red as opposed to purple. A bit of spirit at first. Red fruits, such as strawberries and cherries dominated, with some fruitcake notes. Not the heavyweight I though this might be, but the grippy structure did balance the sweetness quite nicely. Medium to medium short in length. On day two, this picked up quite a bit of depth, gaining darker fruit tones; this definitely deserves decanting. Lovely LBV and a steal for the discounted price of $12.

$12 is a killer price for this. I hope you grabbed a case?

Yeah... I cleaned out their last 6 bottles. Nice little drink for the upcoming cold weather...

I am a big fan of the 2003 Noval LBV.
Almost as great as the 1994 version, which is my all-time fave of the genre. I need to bring mine back here from the UK, now that they've reached 15! I think I have 9 left out of that last case. I went through a few cases here in the USA already. The last one I opened, was a dud though (in the UK).
