1977 Warre’s - Vintage Port
Stood up for 24 hours, decanted 5 hours before drinking with the tasty cheese course. I believe that I may have drunk more 1977 Warre’s than any other Vintage Port. It’s been in a good drinking phase for the last 8-10 years or so, for my taste. Plenty of soft herbs and marzipan on the nose. This bottle seemed to have a touch more alcohol showing, though the sweet Christmas cake fruit were the main body of the palate. It is fully mature and there is no need to wait any longer for further development, though it will hold for several more years.

Sounds terrific Nicos. I just wish I had felt this enthusiasm for VP port earlier in life!
Happy New Year!

I am very fortunate that my close friend Roy Hersh has encouraged and guided my enthusiasm for Port since I have known him.

Nicos,
Yes, we were drinking Port together years before FTLOP and even before my entry into the Confraria. As you know, the 1977 Warre's VP was my "house Port" during the majority of the mid-1990s, and although I still own a decent amount, I don't want to know how many cases of it I went through.
Can I ask you a favor me brother?
Please pull one of my bottles of 1994 Quinta do Noval LBV's out and share it with Pete and George. I'd love to get your read on how these are showing these days.

Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com

Roy,
Thank you for the generous gesture, my friend. I have stood up the bottle of the 1994 Noval LBV and decanted it for consumption tonight! I will post a TN!
