Opened for my birthday 12/4/2009. Decanted for sediment, then recorked and rested for 6 hours. Beautiful medium rose red color, with just the faintest sign of maturity at the rim. Pure red berries, light and elegant, with a lengthy finish that turns to cinnamon, caramel and nuts. A classy, feminine bottle that perhaps let the alcohol peek through just a bit too strongly, but still a wonderful and gracefully maturing Vintage Port. I would gladly own a cellar full of this wine. This was a John Harvey (Bristol) bottling. 95 points.

I have really enjoyed this in the past two. I have found some bottles with a bit of spirit in them but others were of a much higher quality and without that aguardente that seemed out of balance, since the fruit was certainly not fading. Nice note and sounds like a great wine to pour for your birthday.
