2006 Dow's Quinta do Bomfim Vintage Port

Post by Thomas Tideman Holst »

Decanted from half bottle and served at 12 dgr C.
Dark violet/black colour.
Dark fruity smell of cherry and raisin.
Taste of dark fruits and with soft tannins, the wine seems well balanced.
Alcohol is well integrated, but i feel it lacks a bit concentration.
Medium long aftertaste. 91 p

Thomas,
Can you give an estimate as to how long you think this will go before it peaks?

I find i hard to estimate and describe the life cycle of any port.
I have not been able to follow any VP long enough, to get the experience needed to make such a prediction.

However my guess would be that this wine will peak quite soon, or within the next 10-15 years.

I am very much a novice in writing TN's, and my level of experience in drinking ports is low.
