Bottled by the Symingtons for Sainsbury's Taste The Difference range. Decanted through coffee filter paper. Deep red and opaque centre. Nose full of blackcurrants. Silky texture, full of blackcurrant fruit and with soft tannins hidden behind the fruit. Lovely fresh blackcurrants all over the mouth with a dark chocolate core. A warm aftertaste, which fades to a long finish of dark chocolate and dried blackcurrants. Very tasty - but also far too young. Tasty port for the future. 88/100. Drunk 11 Feb 2010 after 18 horus decanting.

Alex,
Not being familiar with Sainsbury, what is the "Taste the Difference" range?

Sainsbury is an upper-mid level UK Supermarket and their "Taste The Difference" (TTD) range is their upper level buyer's own brand.

Sadly for Sainsbury, their TTD port did not sell well so they had to liquidate their stocks at only £10 per bottle...

Ah ok, thanks for the explanation. Sad the program didn't do well, but at least you got some good buys at only ₤10.
