Port/Douro wine dinner with Rupert Symington March 9th

The Wine House in Los Angeles is having a dinner where Rupert S. will be showcasing the Symington Family Estate Ports and Douro wines. I'll be going so I hope others in the L.A. area can attend. Drop me a email or PM and we can try to get seated at the same table.

Rupert Symington is a fourth generation member of the Symington family, Port shippers in Portugal since 1882. Symington is joint CEO of the family businesses along with his cousins Paul and Johnny, and is specifically responsible for sales for the U.S. and Canada.
Symington Family is the leading producer of premium quality Ports, with the combined sales of the family's Port companies making up over a third of all premium Port sold throughout the world. Seven Symingtons work in the family business. From managing the Douro vineyards, through winemaking, aging, and tasting, a member of the family is directly responsible for every bottle of Port they produce. Today, Symington Family Estates owns and operates several of the premium Port houses in Oporto, including such esteemed brands as W. & J. Graham, Dow and smith woodhouse.

Andy, I noticed this upcoming event, and it sounds great. Unfortunately, I will be in NY and Boston on business, and won't be able to get back to LA in time. :(

The good news is that PJ Wines in NY is hosting an event with Nicolas Joly that I will be able to attend. I have never tried his wines, but I have read about them and they sound quite interesting. Even better, that one is free! :-)
