1998 Fonseca Guimaraens Vintage Port

Post by Richard Henderson »

I can't spell the unspellable. If someone will correct it from FTLOP admin, please do so. I mean the G word.
This was opened from a 375 for the second son's birthday. He was 12 on April 8.
The wife and I celebrated the Fonseca, not expecting much. The cork shattered . Not a good sign. The wine was spectacular. Lots of spice, ruhbarb pie nose. Dark dense slightly cloudy color. Big mouthfeel, spicey. long finish. I give this a 93. What a pleasant surprise. We have many bottles of this laid down . It may be a real sleeper.
It was in the classic Fonseca style.

It's "Guimaraens" - an Admin will have to change the title
