2004 Niepoort LBV
Deep red colour. Firm tannins with large body, I like the mouthfeel. Some liquorice, chocolate, and plums. Watering acids and a long aftertaste with tannins all the way. I am not experienced enough to really tell, but I believe this could be in storage for a couple of years. However, I see no point in doing so, this drinks really well now.
As a pop and pour this had a really gripping mouthfeel which were still there the next day (decanted in bottle), only not as dominant and more open and better. Lost some interest in day three but still very good.
90-91 pts
