1990 Dow Quinta do Bomfim Vintage Port -- 375 ml

1990 Dow Quinta Do Bomfim 375 ml (tenth) opened 4-18-10 @ 5 PM CA time
short cork, no seepage, light red mahogany color
on opening, some volatile acidity, toffee, burnt sugar, dark berry nose, soft, clean cherry-mulberry flavors with good grip, low tannins, slightly acid finish, alcohol mostly integrated showing a slight heat in the finish
D +1 hr the volatile acidity is mostly gone, fine cherry, toffee nose, soft balanced mulberry flavors, good body, alcohol and heat submerged in fruit
D +2 completely clean light mulberry/cherry nose, mellow toffee, mocha, cherry flavors, very integrated, lighter bodied than some
D +3 clean light mulberry/cherry nose, sweet/tart cherry/mulberry flavors, slight sour cherry hints, extremely mellow and balanced, best now from 375 ml (tenth), one left in the cellar; no problem with additional aging on 750 ml (fifths) 90 points, would be higher with more structure and body, very clean
if I am good I will update this with a 12 hr gap since I saved just enough for another taste, 375 ml is great size for one drinker!
Bomfim has been great for me over the years and reasonable priced, too; never as big as the biggees but, hey, you can't drink, T, F, G, + D all the time, Drink Port, stay sane!
Update 4/19 at 34 hrs light, clean mulberry, smoke, and anise with clean candied mulberry/cherry flavors, still balanced,tenth all used up
