2000 Quinta do Passadouro Vintage Port -- 375 ml
Posted: Sat Apr 24, 2010 12:32 pm
opened 4/23/10, dark ruby, cork dry and broke in extraction
on opening expansive sweet blackberry, plum, floral notes; sweet cassis, plum flavors, great acidity, tannins and alcohol were there but not intrusive, great fruit and freshness
D +1 same nose, thicker, richer flavors, tannins more apparent in finish
D +2 same nose and flavors, great balance and grip, very pleasant
D +3 lower intensity but clean nose and flavors, great balance
D +4 blackberry dominant with licorice and floral notes in nose, flavors same as before, alcohol noticeable in finish
D +5 same but tannins showing in finish
D +19 expansive blackberry, black cherry, licorice, mocha, floral nose, sweet blackberry flavors; great balance with a slightly hot finish
very enjoyable now, will improve for many years, my next drink of 375 ml targeted for 2015, last one in 2020 God willing
