It is possible, but I recently had a 1983 Smith Woodhouse and 85 Graham and both of those were good. Both of the bottles I opened today are off -- the Dow is going downhill fast, too. But I will cross my fingers and hope for a miracle.

Okay, great. I may be one of the few people (not in the wine trade) with 3 decanters in his office, so I am all set to start my chemistry experiment!

Great. Thanks. The only reason I'm going to have to put them back in the bottles is that I am at work, and am going directly to dinner, and it would be difficult for me to bring two full decanters (mine don't have stoppers).

"Now" for me is 9:30 am -- will that be too much air?

Decanting Strategy for 1983 Graham's, Dow

How does this sound for decanting strategy for a dinner I have to go to tonight. The ports are 1983 Graham and Dow. I figure that we will start drinking the port at 8:30 - 9 pm, so I was going to open the bottles at 3 pm, pour into a decanter and de-sediment (can that even be a verb?), clean the ori...

I have not received my shipment yet, but I called to confirm that they were 750's, and also printed out the web page. I'll confirm when I receive shipment on Friday.

2003 Quinta do Noval Silval

This is $24.99 at Premier Cru, which seems to me to be a fantastic price. Anybody taste it yet? I believe JS gave it a 93 in his most recent tasting.

How does adding a 'value' score help? They can only get that wrong, right? I mean, if I have $50 million I am not going to worry about spending $1500 on a bottle of wine when I want the best. And if I have $50,000 there is no way I'm buying it. But the wine is the same in both cases! Any assumption ...

Thanks, Fred. The Ferreira was the best deal, too ($35). I'll pick up a few bottles. Thanks again.

TNR: Ferreira 94, Roeda 80 & 95

Does anybody have notes on the Ferreira 1994 or the Quinta do Roeda 1980 & 1995? My local shoppe has a few of these pretty cheap. Thanks!
