Cardboard Tomatoes
Tomatoes come from my garden or I don't have them. I grow heirloom varieties that still have flavor in them. They are never refrigerated which is the fastest way to remove all the flavor from them.

Need help finding WA are source for wedding wines
My wife's niece is getting married as soon as her fiance gets back from a tour in Afghanistan. We've always been close to them and have volunteered to supply the wines for the wedding. Normally, this wouldn't present any problems but we are on the East coast and the wedding is planned for the Olympi...

What is your largest single Port purchase?
I bought out someone's port collection so they could get into Barolo. This was back about 10 years ago. It turned out to be 4 1/2 cases of various ports from the 80's and early 90's.

What Port(s) have you purchased this week?
I bought a magnum of 2007 Taylor the other day. It looks like the NH state store has most port on sale. I could have spent a lot more as they had 03 & 04 Quinta da Noval for good prices.

Re: Port Friends in the Boston Area
Yes, there are a few port drinkers here in the Boston area. I haven't, yet, attended an offline but I haven't seen any scheduled recently.
Luc, we manage to make it to Montreal a few times a year as well. I guess I should keep my eyes and ears open when we make our way north.

A couple of Taylor 20, a NY Malmsey, and a Boston Boal. No great bargains, but a super discount and no sales tax.

Call of Port
Today's (May 1) Wall St Journal includes a magazine supplement. One of the articles is about a port aficionado. It's a short but interesting read.

FTLOP.COM no longer registered?
I admit it, I'm lazy. Whenever I open a browser, I type control-L an F-T-L-O-P<enter> and expect to get taken to to this site. For the last couple of days, I've been redirected to a site asking if I want to register the domain name. I hope this is an oversight and not an indication that the bills fo...

a few 70 Delaforce $50
Burmester 30year tawny
Noval 40 year tawny
Taylor 30 year tawny
If anyone in the Boston area want some of the 70 Delaforce, there almost a case left. Place has a decent discount policy, too.

I happened to be in the NH state liquor store in Nashua (store 69) and they had quite a complete selection of 07 ports in both halves and fulls. They even had a couple of Taylor mags.

I'll bet it is a 375 also.
I just received an offer from a local retailer that makes me believe there is some clearing out of the Delaforce going on. Having not tried any, should I have any worries about buying some vintages from the 80's or before?

Re: Do you remember your very first FULL CASE purchase of Port?
Early on in exploring wine, my wife decided she liked port. I hadn't developed a taste for it yet. Kind of funny now that I think of it. She took quite a while to "get" Burgundy while I was struck almost immediately. Anyway, I heard of a deal on a stash of port from a guy who wanted to buy...

Re: Six Grapes on sale
Dan those are very good prices, I hope you grabbed a bunch. This has been one of my favorite Reserve Rubies over the years and I've drunk a ton of it, including a bottle a couple weeks ago. My favorite "everyday" port. I did stock up, but I'm a little worried. I've gotten a disproportiona...

I like CdP! My true love is Burgundy, but looking over my cellartracker reports, I see that Port and Rhone are the next two categories.

Six Grapes on sale
Two locations in MA have Graham's Six Grapes on Sale. I have no relationship with either one except for being a customer.
The Groton Market has it for $14.99/bottle.
Acton Wine and Spirits has it for $13.99/bottle.
