Ah-so corkscrew

Post by Justin Willott »

Does anyone know where can I buy one of these in the UK? There seem to be a few US vendors on the web but I cannot find any for sale in the UK.

Justin,

If no-one is able to help you over the next couple of weeks, drop me a PM or let me know after November 21 and I will find out from my wife where she got the one she gave me for my birthday.

I can't help you before that as I'm away from home for a fortnight.

The BEST QUALITY brand of Ah So is made by the German firm: Monopol. Seek it out as it is by far the finest made although it is not fancy whatsoever, it is durable as any I have ever seen or used and only once was I able to destroy one.

Thanks Roy - I think I'll get a Monopol one from Amazon.com and pay for shipping to the UK. I too have heard these are pretty indestructible in normal use being made from an aluminium alloy. What on earth were you doing with it??????

Justin - did you ever manage to get your Ah So cork remover? If not, I should be able to dig out the details of the place that Elizabeth sourced mine. I remember that it was a wine shop in west Wales but could get you the contact details, if needed.

Mine isn't a Monopol, but is extremely sturdy and well made.

Thanks Alex - I have ordered one from Amazon. I'll just need to open some port now for an excuse to try it out!
